Nuka Glaze

Nuka is a traditional Japanese wood fire glaze made with silica (traditionally rice husk ash), wood ash and feldspar. We have two designs with our Nuka. Two Tone Nuka: which has white slip covering part of the pot. And, Spring Flowers: which has a simple white slip flower design under the glaze. Our Nuka glaze really comes to life on our Local Wild clay mix. Fly ash from the wood kiln can create beautiful yellow hues on this glaze.
